My name is Anna Scott Wieler, and I am the Vice President of Programming for the Auburn Gamma Rho chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. In my role, I am responsible for planning and executing programming that enriches our members' experiences beyond the typical social events. Our goal is to equip each ZTA member with skills to excel not only here at Auburn but also in their lives beyond college.
Our programming includes both short inspirational messages, like the power of positive thinking and healthy study habits, as well as more in-depth sessions on essential topics. For example, last semester, we hosted the Director of Campus Wellness Services, who provided a comprehensive session on Spring Break safety, covering topics such as safe travel practices, sun protection, and alcohol awareness. We also invited one of our alumnae, who shared her journey from college to becoming a successful financial consultant and supply chain specialist, all while balancing family, faith, and career. We're excited to continue offering programming that fosters personal and professional growth for our members this semester.
In addition to chapter programming, I lead Programs Council (PC), our largest committee with 65 members. PC members hold a variety of roles, including: Parents Events Chair, Mental Health Chair, Director of Social Events, Philanthropy Team members, New Member Team members, and more. The committee offers numerous opportunities for members to assume leadership roles and embody ZTA's core value of Leadership. My focus is on empowering each member to take an active role in shaping our chapter and to develop leaders who are confident and ready to succeed both at Auburn and beyond.
As part of my responsibilities, I also report all chapter activities to Zeta Tau Alpha’s national headquarters. Through consistent and thorough communication, we have achieved and maintained Crown Chapter status, an honor that marks Gamma Rho as one of the top ZTA chapters in the nation.
Though it's difficult to fully capture the scope of my position in just a few paragraphs, my main priority is to connect with every chapter member on a personal level. I am dedicated to getting to know each member, addressing their needs, and serving as a liaison between our Executive Council, Programs Council, national headquarters, and the general chapter. Through a servant-hearted leadership approach, I guide members throughout their sorority and college experiences.
